Serra da Leba is one of Angola’s most iconic natural and engineering landmarks, located between the provinces of Huíla and Namibe near the city of Lubango. Famous for its dramatic mountain pass and spectacular series of winding hairpin bends, the road descends the escarpment from the highlands of Lubango towards the coastal plains of Namibe, offering some of the most breathtaking views in Africa.

Built during the 1970s, the pass climbs to an altitude of approximately 1,845 metres and is renowned for its remarkable engineering, scenic viewpoints, and ever-changing landscapes. Visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of rugged mountains, deep valleys, and the vast Namib Desert stretching towards the Atlantic coast. Serra da Leba is considered one of Angola’s most photographed attractions and is a must-visit destination for road-trippers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts exploring southern Angola.
